Check Out this Vegan Restaurant!

Like any other week, this week has flew by for me. Submitted all my assignments on time and now I'm enjoying the few days I have off from school. Eating healthy, exercising, and treating myself to a weekend full of fun was awesome. However, I didn't forget about you all, so let's dive into "Spicing Up the Veggies."

I'm so exhausted of always having to order salads when I go out, since most restaurants don't offer alternatives to the Vegan lifestyle. However, this week I bring to you not only a Vegetarian but also a Vegan restaurant, that I had the pleasure of checking out this weekend, "The Red Fern."

"The Red Fern," offers a full vegan menu, whatever you read and want, you can have it my fellow vegans. And when you see something that has cheese or meat, just know it's a Vegan alternative!

First, I'll speak of the physical setting, I mean it's small and cozy but at the same time, so inviting. White walls, wood floors, and your traditional table sets makes for a great place for lunch or dinner.

Now, let's dive in to how the food was 😋! If you know me, then you know I loved cheese, so transitioning to this new lifestyle and letting go of cheese was so hard. However, "The Red Fern," offers a dish close to the traditional Mac and cheese but a little different. I had the baked mac n cheese that's loaded with brown rice macaroni, cashew cheese, cheddar, onions, balsamic greens, and roasted tomato salad. And I had one of their delicious smoothies to go with it---Kale strawberry banana.

Literally, this dish was so good! I'm still fairly new to the Vegan lifestyle, so learning new receipes and restaurants that offer exciting Vegan dishes in my area takes time. So, if you're like me, or simply want to check out this place, I would definitely recommend this place for you to check out.

"The Red Fern," is open everyday except Mondays and their prices are pretty fair too. If you guys have any questions or want to share your experiences with me, feel free to comment. Until next time my vegan friends...(**pictures from "The Red Fern" Facebook page).

Xoxo,

Alexis W.
