Heyyyyy!! My name is Alexis W. and I’m a junior at the College of Brockport, majoring in Journalism & Broadcasting with a minor in English. After college, I want to relocate to California and start my career as a news anchor. With my degree, two dogs, and living my dream in a big place, I can’t imagine anything better after four stressful years.

I’m originally from Buffalo, NY but I’ve lived in New Jersey for the past three years, which had its pros and cons. Living in a fast city for the first time taught me to work hard and stay focused to keep from drowning. Knowing that I only wanted to get smarter, start my career and exceed, I knew it was time to go back to school. Once I got back in the groove, I found my passion and I also thought I found love but that didn’t last long.

Letting go of the past and focusing on the future, I moved to Rochester with family to continue my studies and live a typical life as a 22-year-old. As I get closer to graduating, I learn more about the television industry and how useful social media can be in creating a image for myself. Social media will not only help me create an image for myself but also allow me to talk and give advice as I go through life. More recently, I decided to totally let go of all animal products by moving to a vegan lifestyle, which led me to start my own blog, “Spicing Up the Veggies.”

My blog will talk about the benefits of a vegan lifestyle to help one transition, if one chooses but to also help my fellow vegans spice it up in the kitchen. I didn’t change my eating habits for a specific reason, I just wanted to be the healthiest I can, by both exercising and eating healthy.

Even if you’re not vegan, my blog will still allow you to learn some healthy vegan recipes or simply move towards a healthier lifestyle, whatever that means for you. “Spicing Up the Veggies” will eliminate the bland, boring and only greens that’s associated with the Vegan lifestyle, and instead show people how a young woman working full-time and going to school full-time makes time spicing it up the healthy and vegan way, while saving $$$$$$$.

It’s been a long journey through the transition from first eliminating meat, to fish, and finally diary, don’t think you’re alone, you’ll hear more of my experiences along the way and a tab of my personal life too. However, I love not only the lifestyle I’ve chosen but also the results. I hope this post only provokes you to want more. Don’t worry, more is coming your way!
